here). Deadline is May 31, 2003.
BC/Yukon Command administers an annual bursary program that presently
provides awards each year to approximately 100 recipients.
The grants are awarded primarily based on financial need calculated on total gross family income. The students must be attending collage or university in British Columbia on a full time basis for two consecutive semesters.
Preference is given to sons and daughters and grandchildren of deceased, disabled and other ex-service personnel but any student who will be undertaking post-secondary education is eligible to apply. Postgraduate work does not qualify for bursary.
Applications are available each year from the Command Office any time after the end of February. The deadline date for receipt of completed application forms and all relevant supporting material is May 31. Adjudication takes places during the summer and results made known to the applicants by mid-August. Students may apply for a bursary more than once. Applications received after the deadline date can not be considered.
Branches can help with completion of the confidential forms only for students who live in their own geographical area. Students must approach the nearest Branch in the area where they live, no matter if the parent or grandparent is a member of another Branch.
