In
2007, Victoria will open its arms to the Royal Canadian
Legion. Your hosts for the Convention are the Branches of
South Vancouver Island Zone, which encompasses Greater Victoria,
Sooke, Sidney and the Gulf Islands. The Local Arrangements
Committee has already selected the hotels you will be using
and the Convention itself will be held in the Victoria Conference
Centre. It is a top class, comfortable venue with full amenities.
Our
Ways and Means Committee is presently working on pre-convention
fundraising as well as preparing submissions for corporate
sponsorships. The Activities and Souvenir Committee is putting
together numerous packages that will keep anyone busy who
will be arriving early or remaining for a few days after
the Convention.
The
Convention fun will start Saturday, June 9, 2007 with a
bus trip to Sooke Branch 54 for dinner and entertainment.
Sunday night will be the gala Vancouver Island Zones Hospitality
Room. Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday there will be entertainment,
food and refreshments at Britannia Br. 7, Prince Edward
Br. 91, Esquimalt Dockyard Br. 172 and Trafalgar/Pro Patria
Br. 292.
This
will be a Convention to remember.
